April 17, 2008: An audit of the
Missouri Housing Development Commission released today revealed that only 35 cents from every dollar spent on tax credits for the Low Interest Housing Tax Credit program goes toward constructing new housing. The remaining 65 cents goes toward administrative costs and other uses that don't build more housing for
Missouri
's poorest citizens.

Auto Workers (UAW) Retirees Meeting here today, it was announced that State Representative Sam Page is Missouri UAW's endorsement for Lt. Governor. Glenn Kage, Financial Secretary for UAW Local 136, called Page "... a true friend of the people who works to expand health care coverage for working families in the State of Missouri."
December 5, 2007: Representative Sam Page (D-82) has filed legislation to block convicted sexual predators from living in college dormitories, House Bill 1352. Page: "Too often sex offenders are not rehabilitated. They are still susceptible to commit another crime. Students and parents of students deserve to know that the school dormitory is a safe environment."

November 20, 2007: The Missouri State Council of Fire Fighters endorsed state Representative Sam Page for Lt. Governor. Sherwood L. Smith, President of the Missouri State Council of Fire Fighters, wrote: "Your caring attitude and record of service towards the citizens of Missouri have earned our highest endorsement."
October 11, 2007: State Representative Sam Page reports that his supporters have given half a million dollars to fund his Primary candidacy. "This nine-month fundraising effort places us at the mid-point to the Primary election -- nine months away," says Page. "We are finding support in all corners of the state. I am especially pleased that the total was from 1,129 donors who gave an average of $445.95 per donor."

October 4, 2007: Sam Page, physician and a Democratic candidate for Lt. Governor, is urging Missouri's U.S. Representatives who voted against the SCHIP expansion to change their votes in order to override the president's veto, but warns the state should not be reliant on national policy. "We cannot continue to allow our children to suffer from illnesses that could be prevented if families had affordable access to doctors," said Page. "In the Missouri House I fought against the Medicaid cuts in 2005 and I have worked on Healthcare Committees to restore those cuts. As your Lt. Governor, I would not sit silently while politicians destroyed a child's opportunity to lead a healthy life."

September 20, 2007: Sam Page, Democratic candidate for Missouri Lieutenant Governor, today announced that he has received the endorsement of 16 Kansas City area State Representatives. "Sam has been one of our strongest voices in the Missouri House of Representatives," said Paul LeVota (D-Independence), "Sam leads us in our state's biggest issue: providing affordable healthcare to our citizens." LeVota, who was recently elected Minority Leader by his fellow representatives, also said "It has been a pleasure to work with Sam the past five years on the State's most important issues."
